The MDT works collaboratively to share information, ensure the child receives a comprehensive assessment, and avoid re-traumatizing the child through multiple interviews and evaluations. Meetings are often held to discuss the case, make decisions on the best course of action, and ensure all aspects of the case are addressed in a timely manner.
The MDT model provides a comprehensive, child-centered approach to handling cases of child abuse, bringing together professionals from a variety of fields to ensure that the child’s well-being is the top priority. This approach helps ensure that the child’s physical, emotional, and legal needs are met while minimizing further harm.
